I have done a lot of escape rooms in the greater Raleigh area. Here are my 3 favorite:
- MacGregor Manor at Game On Escapes and More! In Cary. This game is spooky, but not particularly scary and full of unique challenges and puzzles. This is one of Game On’s early games, so if you like it I would highly suggest trying out any of their games at all (especially at their MacGregor Village location in Cary). They even have a Christmas game (open only in the winter).
- The Attic at NC Escape in Durham. This is another spooky game, with you playing the babysitter to a strangely MIA child. Creepy, immersive, and full of interesting puzzles, this game is so fun! My son also recommends the Alien themed room at this location- but it’s a bit more challenging so go in with your thinking caps on!
- The City with No Sun at NERD in Raleigh. This room is completely in the dark, but despite this it is not scary at all. NERD truly uses every sense in this game to challenge your problem-solving skills! My favorite thing about this game is that the intention is to bring awareness to what the world would feel like with no vision or with low-vision, which I think is both unique and inspiring. My daughter also recommends the Dracula themed room at this location- it has great set design and a really surprising ending!
Check them out if you get the chance!
